Flyleaf ~ There For You

Flyleaf's self-titled debut album was influnced by Christian faith, but the alternative rock band doesn't think it makes them a strictly Christian band. Lead singer Lacey Mosley once told MTV:

"We're a band, it's part of who we are, so it comes out in our music, and it's the fuel for what we do. And finding faith saved my life. So I'm not ashamed of it at all. And most of our album reflects that."

The song "All Around Me" was Flyleaf's highest ranking hit. It crossed over to the pop carts reaching number fourty on the Billboard Hot 100. "There For You" is my favorite from the album Flyleaf. The video is Flyleaf singing an acoustic version of "There For You" on a radio show. The sound is a little quiet, but one of the better live performaces I could find.

There For You by Flyleaf lyrics

Sometimes I’m a selfish fake.
You’re always a true friend and I don’t deserve you ‘cause I’m not there for you.
Please forgive me again.

I wanna be there for you - someone you can come to.
Runs deeper than my bones.
I wanna be there for you.

Swirling shades of blue slow dancing in your eyes.*
The sun kisses the earth and I hush my urge to cry, cry.

I wanna be there for you - someone you can come to.
Runs deeper than my bones.
I wanna be there for you.

‘Cause I hear the whispered words in your masterpiece beautiful.
You speak the unspeakable though, "I love you too."

I wanna be there for you - someone you can come to.
I wanna be there for you and be someone you can come to.
This love runs deeper than my bones.
And I wanna be there for you.

*The word is eyes on the album version, but Mosley often sings the word sky during a live performance.
